This is another recipe from my sister. She calls it fake, but there is nothing fake about the flavor and satisfaction of making your own dang salsa. She says, “I literally can eat this stuff on anything because it’s so good, and people beg me for the recipe. Enjoy!”
2 cans diced tomatoes with green chiles*
1/2 tsp (or more/less, per your taste) of the following:
crushed red pepper flakes*
salt & pepper
Optional (depending on your taste preferences or what’s in your refrigerator):
3-4 jarred jalapeno slices*, plus 1 tbsp juice
1 loose handful fresh cilantro
Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor and blend until desired consistency is achieved.
*If desired, use 1 can diced tomatoes and green chiles and 1 can regular diced tomatoes. If using 2 cans tomatoes with chiles, omit some of the spicy ingredients (like the crushed red pepper flakes and jalapenos) unless you like really spicy salsa.
