Bulgogi.

My sister-in-law sent this recipe, saying “bulgogi is just ‘fired meat.'” She said someone made it for her after the recent birth of her third baby, and she loved it so much she asked a Korean woman at the commissary for the recipe. Things I love about it: 1) you can make it for meat or for vegetables, 2) Korean women are fabulous culinary resources, and 3) it’s family-approved. My sister-in-law feeds a family of five which means she faces a number of challenges, time being the biggest. This is something you can prepare the night before, and it’s packed with flavor that makes it effortless to enjoy!

1/2 c soy sauce

1/4 c sugar

1/2 tsp sesame seed

1/4 c sesame oil

1/2 c chopped green onion

1 tsp chopped garlic

Whisk together all ingredients in a medium bowl. Marinate roughly 3 pounds sliced tenderloin or mixed vegetables in sauce overnight. Grill or stir fry meat/vegetables and serve with rice or noodles.
